The Origins of Theta Healing
ThetaHealing™ is a technique that teaches how to put to use our natural intuition, relying upon unconditional love of the Creator of All That Is to do the actual “work”. By changing your brain wave cycle to include the “Theta” state, you can actually watch the Creator Of All That Is create instantaneous emotional change and change in beliefs. Upon learning the technique of Theta Healing, you will see that everyone has intuitive abilities that can be used to bring about spontaneous, emotional healing. Using this personal process, you may help yourself, as well as your friends and family.
Theta Healing™ was discovered by Vianna Stibal as a therapeutic self-help guide to develop the ability to make changes on all levels: physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually using the Creator of all That Is. Theta Healing™ is best known for the Belief and Feeling Work on all four levels; Core, Gene, History, and Soul.
With growing scientific evidence that toxic emotion can contribute to disease and the awareness that emotions, feelings and the power of thought have a direct bearing upon our physical health, there is increasing interest in changing how the mind influences the body to create optimum well being. Belief and Feeling Work empower people with the ability to remove and replace negative emotions, feelings and thoughts with positive, beneficial ones.
ThetaHealing™ is also best known for the 7 Planes of Existence; a concept to connect to the Highest Level of Love and Energy of All That Is. Using this concept, the practitioner can achieve the highest clarity and wisdom: Love.
In 1995, Vianna Stibal, a mother of three young children, was diagnosed with a serious health condition. Everything she had tried using conventional and alternative medicine had failed, until she employed a simple technique that she used in her work as an intuitive reader. Amazed that she became well, Vianna started to use this technique in her sessions with clients and saw person after person miraculously heal and change.
ThetaHealing is in essence, an application of quantum physics. Using a theta brain wave, which until recently was believed to be accessible only in deep sleep or master-level meditation, the practitioner is able to connect with the energy of All That Is – the energy in everything – to identify issues with and witness healings and to identify and change limiting beliefs.
The term ‘mind over matter’ and the meditation techniques used in Theta Healing helped Vianna deal with the issues she was facing. It is well documented that meditation helps relieve stress and train the mind to deal with challenges in life. She added this knowledge to her sessions with clients and in the classes she was teaching. Curious to understand why the technique was working, Vianna solicited the help of a physicist and with an electrocephalograph discovered that the simple technique tapped Theta waves.
Over many years of practicing the technique, Vianna believes the technique utilizes a Theta wave to achieve an instant healing of beliefs and emotions which impact well being. Through thousands of clients she discovered not only an amazing way to connect with the creative energy that moves in all things, but that this energy may change instantly, Beliefs and Feelings that are linked to sickness.
But of the most profound discovery was that the technique could be taught to others. She has trained others to teach some of her classes of Theta Healing™ . This technique is one of the most amazing experiences of life.
Why is a Theta brainwave pattern important?
Scientists also have discovered the fact that the emotions for “bliss” and deep internal “peace”, are only felt when theta brain waves are dominant on the E.E.G. It has also been noted by researchers that it is theta brain waves that allow individuals to experience their “strongest spiritual connection.”
The five brain wave patterns:
There are five major frequencies of brain waves . The brain uses all these waves at any one time. One frequency is always dominant in any given situation.
BETA: The Beta frequency is the cycle you are using at normal times. Your brain is cycling between 14-28 cycles per second. Whilst reading this you are in Beta.
ALPHA: The alpha frequency is one you use the most when in a relaxed, meditative frame of mind. Your brain waves cycle between 7-14 cycles per second.
THETA: A Theta state is a very deep relaxed state of mind. A Theta state is most often reached during a deep state of meditation. It is also a sleep state and can be achieved as well through hypnosis. Your brain waves cycle between 4-7 cycles per second while in theta. Theta brain wave allows your conscious mind to connect to your subconscious mind where your experiences, long term memories, creativity, emotions, spiritual connection and inspiration are stored.
DELTA: A Delta state of mind is found whilst you are in deep sleep. This is the state of mind that can allow you to know who is calling when the phone rings. The Delta state of mind is a cycle of 0-4 cycles per second.
GAMMA: The Gamma state of mind is the state we are in when we learn and process information. Gamma waves stimulate the release of Beta endorphins. Gamma waves appear to be involved in higher mental activity including perception and consciousness. Your brain waves cycle between 40 cycles a second.
Applying the Theta Healing technique, allows you to use all brainwaves to create major results in your life. This happens by consciously (Beta) accessing the subconscious (Theta) you are able to apply super learning (Gamma) to re write programmes into your subconscious (Theta) and allow them to flow (Alpha) into your present and conscious mind (Beta) to change or resolve the challenges you have in your life.
In Theta Healing we have four levels where beliefs are held. We hold negative and positive beliefs. Some we are conscious of and others sit just beneath the surface and in the subconscious levels.
We normally use only 10 to 20% of our brain. Our lives could be so different if we could use that other 80 to 90 percent known as the subconscious mind. Just like our computer CPU that is on idle most the time, but sometimes gives us full power, our brain is geared for delivering that full power only in circumstances that demand it.
Four levels of beliefs
Core Level: These are beliefs which we can carry over from our childhood. These beliefs have been a part of our lives and some can be hindering progress in our present life. These beliefs are held in the frontal lobe of the brain.
Genetic Level: These beliefs are given to us from our ancestors. They are in our genetic code and DNA. An example of this, if a grandfather lived through a war, it could result in the child being afraid of being thrown out of their home by some outside force. In Theta Healing we would ask that belief to be changed to one of safety and peace in the client’s environment
History Level: These beliefs are brought over from past lives and can also be in the genetic level. These beliefs and memories can be held in the aura or electro- magnetic field of a client. A person may have died in a past life through fire and have a phobia about fire or over sensitive to heat or light. In Theta Healing we ask that the history level is resolved and therefore all the lessons learnt are kept from other times without the fears and blocks.
Soul Level: These are beliefs which affect the soul. The soul is ‘All That Is’ of a person. A client can be affected at a soul level which means the beliefs are held deeply and experienced over and over. The beliefs or programmes are changed at the heart centre and outward.
In Theta Healing we use muscle testing to test on belief systems held in the unconscious. You may have heard of muscle testing through kinesiology. Anybody can do it because it uses your electrical system and your muscles. When looking at subconscious beliefs, nature answers your yes/no questions by projecting a positive energy or a negative energy into the electrical circuit that you have created by your fingers especially for the muscle testing.
In Theta Healing we have many methods to muscle test and here’s one of the most effective ones. Before a session you will be asked to become familiar with this method. We also have others that can be used should you prefer.
Self muscle testing made easy:
1. The Circuit Fingers: If you are right-handed: Place your left hand palm up. Connect the tip of your left thumb with the tip of the left little finger (not your index finger). If you are left-handed: Place your right hand palm up. Connect the tip of your right thumb with the tip of your right little finger. By connecting your thumb and little finger, you have closed an electrical circuit in your hand, and it is this circuit you will use for testing. Circuit fingers can touch tip to tip, finger pad to finger pad, or thumb resting on top of the little finger’s nail.
2. The Test Fingers:
To test the circuit (the means by which you will apply pressure to yourself), place the thumb and index finger of your other hand inside the circle you have created by connecting your thumb and little finger. The thumb and index finger should be right under your thumb and your little finger, touching them. Don’t try to make a circle with your test fingers. They are just placed inside the circuit fingers that do form a circle. It will look as if the circuit fingers are testing on the test fingers
3. Leaning body muscle testing: Another simple form of muscle testing is the leaning body technique. You close your eyes and say ‘yes, yes, yes’ and your body leans slightly forwards. When you close your eyes and say ‘no, no, no,’ your body leans slightly backwards. When your body leans forwards it means a yes. When your body leans backwards it’s a no. The answer you are able to get through the testing is from nature. It is not an answer that has been concocted or made up by the conscious will.
4. Positive Response: Keeping this position, ask yourself a yes/no question in which you already know the answer to be yes. (My name is _____?”) Once you’ve asked the question, press your circuit fingers together, keeping the tip-to-tip position. Using the same amount of pressure, try to pull apart the circuit fingers with your test fingers. Press the lower thumb against the upper thumb, and the lower index finger against the upper little finger. The action of your test fingers will look like scissors separating as you apply pressure to your circuit fingers. The motion of the test fingers is horizontal. Don’t try to pull your test fingers vertically up through your circuit fingers. If the answer to the question is positive (if your name is what you think it is!), you will not be able to easily push apart the circuit fingers. The electrical circuit will hold, your muscles will maintain their strength, and your circuit fingers will not separate. You will feel the strength in that circuit.
5. Negative Response:
Once you have a clear sense of the positive response, ask yourself a question that has a negative answer. Again press your circuit fingers together and, using equal pressure, press against the circuit fingers with the test fingers. This time the electrical circuit will break and the circuit fingers will weaken and separate. Because the electrical circuit is broken, the muscles in the circuit fingers do not have the power to easily hold the fingers together. In a positive state the electrical circuit holds, and the muscles have the power to keep the two fingers together.
