How to Rebuild your Health ©Pam Burn.
To rebuild your health you need to rebuild your house. This firstly concentrates on your Physical body but other aspects of your overall health cannot be neglected, such as emotional, mental and spiritual wellbeing.
IF YOU DON’T LOOK AFTER YOUR BODY, WHERE WILL YOU LIVE? NOW is the time to change your ways:
CLEANSE, NOURISH, REJUVENATE, HEAL MAINTAIN. A 5 pronged approach.
- CLEANSE:
If you are really ill stop the poisoning.(This can be the things you think, feel and believe as well as what you eat.) Have wheatgrass juice and an alkalinising, enzyme rich living food diet. Eat nothing from a box, can or packaging. Throw out the coffee maker and microwave (just for now). Invest in a juicer and blender. Consider colonic hydrotherapy. Clear out the drains, (bowels) with psyllium husks and ground flaxseeds. Jumpstart the liver with detoxifying massages. Renewal of our cells is constant. Your body can change. Treat your stomach like a garden and not a compost heap. De-toxing can help to cure many diseases. Grasses with their living chlorophyll act as detergents, purging the liver, scrubbing the intestines, oxygenating the blood and chelating and removing heavy metals.
Fasting/Juicing helps the body to rebalance its own chemistry, eliminating drugs and toxins. Juice fasting with wheatgrass and raw fruits and vegetables is the most cost effective and natural way to introduce oxygen, nutrients and water into the blood stream and enhance elimination. It has a laxative effect on our blocked drains. If we don’t get rid of these poisons they put an extra burden on the liver which is the most important organ of detoxification. Liver and kidney damage can often be the first step on a vicious downward spiral towards poor health. Wheatgrass purges the liver. This isn’t forever, just to help you get well again.
2. NOURISH:
Once your house is clean, now you need to rebuild. You are what you eat. Choose to now eat for cellular health. The best nourishment is from enzyme rich organic living raw foods. Grasses are complete foods. Juice and eat fresh, organic fruit and veg in a variety of textures, colours and tastes. Chew well to start the breakdown of nutrients in the mouth. In winter you may want to eat warming soups and stews that combat the cold damp weather and fire up your digestive juices. You don’t want cold damp foods such as dairy or salads so much in cold damp weather. Explore the properties of herbs and seek those that apply to your condition. (Find a herbalist). Feed your cells. Do a nutritional typing test online, (See Dr Mercola’s site). Like me, you may be a protein type. Find out how to eat for your personal and unique health. Protein doesn’t have to be meat (difficult if you are vegetarian) but could be beans, quinoa, whey protein or quorn. Still you may need to incorporate protein into every meal.
“It’s not the food in your life. It’s the life in your food.”
3. REJUVENATE
Once the house is clean and the structure is strengthened add the extras- the window dressing, the decorating. Continue to cleanse and nourish but now expand your health programme to include massage and an exercise programme appropriate to your energy level and condition (walking, swimming, yoga, rebounding.) Consult with natural health professionals such as homeopaths, osteopaths, acupuncturists, reflexologists etc. Consider Energy Medicine techniques and exercises. Theta Healing can help you to identify limiting, self-destructive beliefs and emotions that prevent you from enjoying every moment. If this is a step too far consider EFT and Matrix Reimprinting.
Explore energy therapies which deal more with emotional blocks and the flow of vital chi through your chakras and meridians. Research the possibility of oxygen therapy, bio magnetic therapy if appropriate for your condition. Earthing products in your bed or by your computer keep you grounded and affect you on a cellular level (Read Earthing.) Try to body brush every day in the morning to get the flow of blood going, but take soothing and relaxing essential oil baths in the evening. Meditate. Explore Theta Healing or EFT and matrix reimprinting to change false negative emotions and beliefs which are the real toxicity in our lives. We are not just physical beings.
4. HEAL:
You can’t change your health without changing your life and attitude. Find out what limiting beliefs and negative emotions stop you from healing.(Read “Your body speaks your mind” by Debbie Shapiro. Have Theta Healing sessions. EFT and Matrix Reimprinting sessions)
Be positive. Your environment should be healing. Clear out clutter and things that no longer serve you or uplift you. (See article on Feng Shui).
Laughter is healing. (See article on The Magic of Laughter.) Have fun.
Love is healing. (See article on The Magic of Love.) Love and honour yourself and your individual needs every day. Love your neighbour as YOURSELF!!
Now is a time for personal and spiritual reflection. Take classes in all those things you have wanted to do for your own personal growth.
Education is medicine. Massage is medicine. Yoga is medicine. Take full responsibility for your own health. No one thinks your thoughts but you. No one feels your emotions but you.
Rest. Do nothing sometimes.
Take Epsom salt baths ( for magnesium) or put herbs that impart their healing aroma into the water. Use aromatherapy oils like rose, frankincense or lavender.
Bathe safely in the sun to get vital vitamin D, (many of us are deficient in this.) If you can’t do this get a sublingual spray of Vitamin D3 (not D2).
Brush your skin (up towards the heart) each morning. This clears toxins from your skin which is the largest organ of elimination.
Practise deep breathing to bring life giving oxygen to your blood and cells. In through the nose and out through the mouth.
Drink lots of pure mineral water. Approximately 2 litres daily.
Practise meditation. This doesn’t have to involve sitting for hour in a strange and uncomfortable position but can be a simple guided meditation tape that helps you to relax and release.(See the mediation courses I run.)
5 .MAINTAIN:
Unless you have a life threatening illness, now you can move onto a maintenance programme using all of the above guidelines.
1. Try to do a detox every season i.e. 4 times a year. This is like making a big investment in your health bank. Then if you are naughty with wine, junk food, chocolate you still have some of the investment to fall back on. You don’t have to be perfect.
2. Try to eat at least 60% raw foods by eating salads or juicing a wide variety of fruits and vegetables once a day. The basis for most juices should be apples, pineapples, lemons and carrots. Blend in avocados or bananas. There are many super-foods you can add such as spirulina, wheatgrass (or any of the grasses such as oat, barley and rye), bee pollen, brewer’s yeast. By doing this you will start to see many health gains such as improved skin, improved immune function, maybe some weight loss or gain depending on individual circumstances. It is fine now to have the occasional treat such as a coffee or a pizza. EVERYTHING IN MODERATION.
3. Drink water. Keep well hydrated. Have a glass of water with you at your desk, by the computer. Have bottled water in the car, in your handbag. Read my article on The Importance of Water.
4. It is most important to have a positive mental attitude. Go out and have fun. Learn new things. Apply them to your life. You have now made the best investment in yourself you can make.
QUOTES:
“The cure of many diseases is unknown to the physicians… because they are ignorant of the whole, which ought to be studied also; for the part can never be well unless the whole is well… (This)…is the great error of our day in the treatment of the human body that the physicians separate the soul from the body.”(Plato 477-347BC)
“The ordinary doctor is interested mostly in the study of disease. The nature doctor is interested mostly in the study of health.”
“Let’s change impossible to I’m Possible.”
“If I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it even if I may not have it at the beginning. (Mahatma Gandhi.)
