What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is an ancient art of foot therapy that has been practised across the world for thousands of years particularly for the enhancement of well being. It is a non-invasive treatment based on the principle that there are reflex points or zones on the feet which are connected to corresponding parts of the body by energy pathways.
Physical and emotional disorders are an outward expression of imbalance and disharmony within the whole person. Stimulation of the zones on the feet encourages the flow of energy along the energy pathways (meridians) releasing the blocks and enabling the body’s own healing mechanisms to take over and restore balance and harmony within.
A Reflexology treatment relaxes the whole person, improving the flow of blood through all the systems of the body, it is restoring and revitalising on every level.
What happens in a treatment?
The therapist will massage the feet with oil, lotion or balm. Her hands will gently massage the various reflex points that will help the individual client. Sensitive, trained hands can detect tiny deposits and imbalances in the feet and by working on these and gently breaking them down, blockages are released and the free flow of energy is restored to the body.
What conditions can Reflexology help with?
